I have gotten three speeding tickets in the Washington DC/Baltimore area.
1. While committing the sin of driving from Maryland to DC down Suitland Parkway in the most blatant speed trap ever made. I went to court mostly to waste the court's time.
2. While driving in the Baltimore beltway and encountering a kamikaze construction zone with no workers, just cones, a temporary speed limit and a camera.
3. While driving down a 45 mph 6-lane road (route 450) in the world's longest all-day school zone.

I know some of these things will sound idiotic but I am not sure how to protest and I feel that I must do something. So I have resorted to the following:

1. Downtown DC is in my "do not fly" list. I work there but I do not spend money there. Their speed camera policy is obviously targeted at people from Maryland.
2. When I drive down I-295 from Maryland to DC (which has many cameras and suspicious speed limit changes), I intentionally set my cruise control at 40mph (speed limit is 50, or 55, or 45).
3. One time when I saw a predatory speed camera van parked on M Street in DC waiting for people to start heading home, I took out my pocket camera and flashed a few pictures at oncoming cars. Hey, it had the same effect (reduced speed and "safety") and those people did not get a ticket. If I had more time, I would follow those vans around and do more of that, you know, to keep people safe.

Anyway, since I am new here I was wondering if there are "acceptable" or "preferred" methods of protesting speed cameras.
