Paul Henry Breakdown of Funds from RL OFFICER TICKET VS RLC TICKET.  CITIES GET MONEY IN RLC TICKET!

 If the concern is about providing financial assistance to health type trust funds and our police/fire/EMS workers, let's look at the fine money from an officer's red light ticket vs. a camera ticket (information based upon fine amounts in s.... 316.0083, and Chapter 318):
Officer's $260+ ticket:
Net amount to health trust funds: $7.84
Net amount to EMS (ambulance) trust fund: $4.25
Net amount to law enforcement training: $4.50
Net amount to law enforcement radio fund: $3
Net amount local government has for any use as they desire: $0

Red light camera $158 ticket:
Net amount to health trust funds: $13
Net amount to health or EMS (ambulance) trust funds: $0
Net amount to EMS (ambulance) trust fund: $0
Net amount to law enforcement training: $0
Net amount to law enforcement radio fund: $0
Net amount local government has for any use as they desire: $75

The last line helps to explain the Herculean effort of our local officials and for-profit camera company lobbyists in Tallahassee pushing this unconstitutional law that does not protect the rights of any citizens.

The officer's ticket also carries points to hold accountable the actual driver- which the camera laws does not do since the driver, whether they are aggressive, inattentive, or impaired, is never identified. Points are a necessity if the camera law were actually about safety. Look at the numbers involved and you will see why it is indeed not about safety, but actually about revenue.
