Are Speed Awareness Courses becoming just another scam?
 

This letter is this week's Flintshire Chronicle alleges that North Wales Police are sending people on speed awareness courses for doing as little as 33mph in a 30mph zone — less than ACPO's recommended threshold of 10%+2 (35mph). 'Offenders' have to pay for the course — which is run by the AA, and costs more than a £60 fine. The writer believes that the whole process is just another money making scam:
