Speed Scamera Shenanigans: Many booked at exactly 108km/h, says former police officer

(Thanks to Camerafraud for the link!)

(Note:  100 km/h is 62 mph, these people were essentialy booked for 5 mph over the speed limit exactly!  Kind of strange eh!  Many exactly the same amount over!)  http://calculator-converter.com/converter_mph_per_miles-hour_to_km-hour_calculator.php

RETIRED police officer Ken Armstrong will be among the first to make a complaint to the new traffic camera commissioner.

The 39-year force veteran is one of the few Victorian motorists to have successfully questioned the accuracy of speed cameras in court and won.

He will ask the proposed Office of the Road Safety Commissioner to investigate why so many motorists get booked by fixed speed cameras at exactly 108km/h.

A female police officer is contesting a fine generated by a camera on EastLink at the Dandenong Bypass in Keysborough, claiming the camera is inaccurate.

She was fined for allegedly doing 108km/h in a 100km/h zone, but says she was travelling at 98km/h.

The Herald Sun revealed in 2009 that the Wellington Rd bridge camera on EastLink had more complaints than any other in Australia, and most complainants were booked at 108km/h.

Mr Armstrong was booked at 108km/h on the Princes Freeway. He represented himself in court and won.

"Which was fine for my own case, but what about all those others booked at 108km/h?" he said.
