Maryland, Australia: Speed Camera Van Windows Smashed

Personal note:

This is what happens when you Deny Public Votes long term:  Vigilante Attacks.  Maryland and Australia speed scameras van attacks.

MD was the site for a voter drive to REPEAL the MD law that "allowed" the scam.  People only had very small window of days to repeal the law, essentally this is a PROHIBITION AGAINST ANY VOTER REFERENDUM THERE!  (see note at end of post).

Ban the Cams note:  We DO NOT CONDONE VIOLENCE against any person.  Please DON'T hurt other people!  IT IS NEVER A SOLUTION!

Ban the Cams note 2:  When you start to deny democracy, sooner or later people start to push back.  As the Late President John F. Kennedy said.

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”

John F. Kennedy 1963

We hope for peace, we hope that DEMORACY is HONORED.  (Someting the scamera side has NO intention of ever doing based on their actions in TX and WA State!).

But please keep it peaceful folks!

Maryland, Australia: Speed Camera Van Windows Smashed
Vigilantes in Queensland, Australia and Hanover, Maryland attack mobile photo radar units.

Vigilantes in Maryland and Australia attacked the windows of speed camera vehicles last week. In Anne Arundel County, Maryland a man in his 60s took a small hammer to the window of an automated ticketing van that belongs to Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) at around 11:30am Wednesday. The van had been stationed on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway to generate citations on the high-volume route just north of the Route 195 exit.

In a show of extreme force, police shut down the freeway for three hours and deployed SWAT teams from the Maryland State Police and Anne Arundel County Police, along with K-9 units and helicopters in an attempt to find the man who caused two large cracks on the speed camera Jeep SUV's front windshield. Police failed to find any suspect, although there is a possibility that fingerprints were recovered from the hood of the camera vehicle. Early reports from the incident that the man had fired shots or was swinging a sledgehammer proved inaccurate. The camera van driver claimed he saw a shotgun.

In Brisbane, Australia a young man bashed the front passenger-side window of a photo radar van as it flashed on Beams Road in Carseldine, the Courier-Mail reported.  http://www.couriermail.com.au/questnews/north/window-smashed-in-police-speed-camera-van/story-fn8m0rl4-1226088808880

Ban the Cams note 3:  MD is perhaps the worst state to try to repeal by laws via referendum.  Here is a quote from MDSCAMERA:  http://scamera.wordpress.com/2009/04/15/welcome/

Maryland is one of the hardest if not the hardest states in the union to pass a referendum. Sadly, this results in so many Marylanders being denied a voice in their government by not being able to hold their elected officials responsible for questionable and unpopular policy.

The burdensome state guidelines only guarantee the citizen petitioners a limited few weeks. This allows little time for people to express their concerns over a law. Even if Marylanders had submitted the correct number of signatures, the state would still omit 20-30% of the voter intent. By means of a strict process that if a middle initial was not used, the signature would be void.
