Why the VAST MAJORITY of RLV crashes WILL NOT BE PREVENTED BY RLC

While the IIHS gets ready to release a "study" claiming RLC "saves lives".  I thought it would be interesting to look at real causes of some of these terrible RLV crashes in the Tampa Bay region in 2010 that a RLC IS FUNDIMENTALLY USELESS AT STOPPING!

MOST OF THESE FATAL RLV CRASHES have secondary themes that a RLC WILL NOT STOP!

Ferry, 47, of Largo left the bar about 1:45 a.m. Officers tried to pull over his 1998 Dodge Ram, but Ferry sped north on Belcher. Police followed, but did not use emergency lights.

Shortly afterward, Ferry ran a red light and crashed into Donahue's Yellow Cab on Drew Street, authorities said

Ray's blood alcohol level after the crash was twice the .08 percent level where the law presumes impairment, Tampa police said.
De Jesus, 46, was driving her 2004 Toyota Matrix east on Sligh Avenue when Ray's sport utility vehicle ran a red light while on southbound Nebraska Avenue, police said.

This week authorities arrested the man they say was responsible.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Robert M. Sager was drunk when he hit a motorcyclist Sept. 4 at Little and Ridge roads. Michael J. Hallmeyer, 32, of New Port Richey died the following
day from his injuries at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg.

Tampa police say Ingram Edmond Ferguson, 44, ran a red light at Hillsborough and Nebraska avenues and hit a truck driven by Yo Sandi Linares-Ortiz of Plant City.
Ferguson's blood-alcohol level was .296, police said, more than three times the limit at which state law presumes impairment. Besides the DUI manslaughter charge, he faces two counts
of driving under the influence with property damage. Bail was set at $52,000.

There are two other fatal crashes not mention here.  both seem to be not paying attention but not enough known at time of this posting.
