You might have heard of Redflex Traffic Systems.

That's the company that owns and operates the red-light cameras at 18 El Paso intersections. It's had a contract with the city for more than five years.

During most of that time, the man in charge of checking that images and video clips actually captured red light violations was Jack Matthews.

He was a sergeant with the El Paso Police Department until he retired in August.

Matthews now works for Redflex in El Paso.
