EL PASO, Texas -- One woman died in El Paso's 21st deadly car crash in 2011 Sunday morning at the intersection of Alameda and Americas avenues.

El Paso police said a 69-year old man driving a white Ford F-150 ran a red light and slammed into a maroon Ford F-150 with three people inside. The back seat passenger in the maroon truck died at the scene.

"We believe she was ejected as a result of the collision," Mike Baranyay with El Paso police said.

"I feel sorry for the girl who died," Sergio Martinez from Horizon City said. "I don't know what to say."

Martinez said he sees accidents happen at the intersection often. He was also in an accident at the intersection.

"A person just stopped suddenly," Martinez said. "I had to stop suddenly and the person behind me hit me."

According to El Paso police, the intersection is the fifth most dangerous intersection in El Paso in terms of the number of car crashes. This year there have been 16.

The intersection has red-light cameras and police said they hope they'll be able to have a photo and possibly video of the accident soon.

Police said it is not clear whether alcohol was a factor in the crash or not. They said failure to wear a seatbelt was a factor.
