Right-on-Red Tickets End in Haines CIty

No more right-turn-on-red tickets will be issued from Haines City resulting from the cameras installed along U.S. 27 and at U.S. 17/92.

City commissioners didn't want to eliminate the cameras altogether because they agreed they wanted to continue to cite drivers who ran straight through red lights.

Police Chief Rick Sloan said he would notify American Traffic Systems not to refer any of the red-turn-on-right violators back to the city police department, which authorizes the tickets to be mailed.
