Red Light Camera News
Poll says public "supports" RLC. Same CO said public "supported" transit tax that was voted down!
The St Pete Times recently published a poll by American Directions Group.
ADG poll claimed the public "supported" RLC. http://www.tampabay.com/news/publicsafety/strong-support-for-red-light-cameras-in-hillsborough-pinellas/1142335
This is what ADG published on its own web site: http://americandirections.com/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=88&Itemid=119
American Directions Group specializes in recruiting and activating advocates to promote legislative agendas. We equip our clients with the ability to have their issues pushed to the forefront on the local, state and federal levels.
But before you "believe" this poll realize this. ADG is the same polling company that did another poll on a Transit tax:
Yet guess what happen in November: http://tampa.creativeloafing.com/gyrobase/transit_voters_shot_down_the_hillsborough_transit_tax_proposal_/Content?oid=1334048
Quote:
But some officials are reluctant to start taking on transit so soon after the Hillsborough initiative got trounced in the polls by a 58-42 margin.
Make you wonder how "accurate" that poll is, don't ya think!
IN fact the last polls done on RLC were by Rice University in Houston.
That poll said RLC were "cruising to victory". http://www.khou.com/home/Poll--Red-light-cameras-cruising-to-victory-drainage-fee-going-down-106342859.html
Quote: The 11 News –KUHF Houston Public Radio poll revealed 55 percent of surveyed voters favor keeping red light cameras while 36 percent want to abolish them. Another 8 percent were unsure.
Additional Quote: The survey of 437 likely voters – 56 percent of whom had already voted – was conducted October 26 – 28 by the Center for Civic Engagement at Rice University. Political scientist Bob Stein supervised the survey.
Of course that poll was found to be utter bunk too (like the transit tax), The HOUSTON VOTERS BANNED RLC!
(ATS is actively trying to overturn that vote too: http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/metropolitan/7318259.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+houstonchronicle%2Ftopheadlines+%28chron.com+-+Top+Stories%29)
So Ban the CAMS ISSUES THE FOLLOWING CHALLANGE!
IF the supporters of RLC really believe the polls that claim public support for RLC, THAN LET THE VOTERS DECIDE THEMESELVES! (Something they should have been allowed to do in the FIRST PLACE but was denied by Tallahassee!)
Come on, whats wrong?????? Or does the scamera side who claims public support realize that many of these "pro polls" may have some "problems".
Ban the Cams says:
LET THE PEOPLE VOTE!
