Yellow lights need to be lengthened

Right on Gary Blackwell. If the state says 4.5 seconds is standard perhaps they should do another study. I was ticketed for going through a red light at Gulf Drive and U.S. 19 and paid my $158. It was unbelievable how fast the yellow light turned red.

Can you travel at the given speed limit on U.S. 19 with traffic, mostly exceeding the limit, and safely stop in 4.5 seconds without the risk of being rear ended and getting a whiplash? I don't think so.

I cross Main Street and U.S. 19 at least a couple of times daily. It is scary how many crash at the light, so I believe in the program. I do believe adjustments need to be made for safety's sake.

Thanks Gary for bringing this issue to the forefront.
