JEFFERSON, La. -- Jefferson Parish Council members voted Wednesday to suspend the parish's traffic camera program for another 30 days.

This is the third time lawmakers have put the brakes on the cameras.

The system has been out of commission since January, when council members said they discovered documents that showed that former New Orleans Councilman Bryan Wagner was receiving a portion of all traffic fines paid to the camera operator, Red Flex.

The council is holding off on making any lasting decisions on the program until the parish completes its own investigation into the business dealings of Red Flex.
