Lakeland PD wants more scamera, makes claim of "less accidents" and "fatals"

http://www.theledger.com/article/20120113/NEWS/120119692?p=all&tc=pgall

What is really interesting here is the lack of answers to:

1.  How many wrecks were RLV related (NOT ANGLES which count NON RLV wreck http://www.banthecams.org/2170-the-a-anglea-scam-how-cities-use-angle-crashes-instead-of-rlr-crashes-to-manipulate-the-truth.html).  A RLC CAN ONLY THEORITICALLY "stop" a RLV crash, SO HOW MANY were RLV related????

(IN another ATS town, Dunellon, someone pulled the accident numbers in the application to F-Dot. NOT ONE CRASH WAS RLV RELATED!  http://www.ocala.com/article/20111204/OPINION/111209930/1005/sports01?Title=Red-light-cameras-are-about-revenue)

2.  What is the breakdown of "violations".  How many are right turns, stop line and split seconds.

3.  What was the rejection rate before and after???  http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/31/3173.asp

4.  Has any Lakeland Police officer gone to ATS "junkets" in AZ?????  You know the one with entertainment.  http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/35/3581.asp  Have there been any jobs requested by any officers there like another ATS town??  http://www.banthecams.org/Red-Light-Camera-News/lynnwood-officers-asked-ats-for-jobs-and-marketed-for-ats.html  or http://www.heraldnet.com/article/20110818/NEWS01/708199929Did  the vendors "coach" the police on what to say.    http://www.banthecams.org/Red-Light-Camera-News/cameragate-red-light-safety-or-city-revenue.html  http://www.banthecams.org/attachments/2052_Camera%20Gate%201.pdf

Quote:  Page 89. Oct 1, 2010: Kroske (ATS VP at the time)  to BPD http://nwcitizen.com/images/pdfs/SampleLetterPubandPDChief.pdf: “As a vendor the media doesn’t want to hear from us, but they are anxious to hear from the city and public. If you agree, we will prepare some letters for submission to the press by people in the community. Attached is a sample letter designed to come from the chief or other senior PD staff. We can do the letters if you can arrange for people to submit them.”

5.  Of the proposed intersecions, WHAT DID ATS SURVEY "show".  In Mukilteo, WA the survey there showed that most were right turns on red!  http://www.banthecams.org/Studies-Show/ats-mukilteo-survey-proves-most-of-the-qviolationsq-were-right-turns.html  (ATS SURVEY:  http://www.banthecams.org/attachments/1553_ATS%20Mukilteo%20survey.pdf)

HIMMM  ANSWER THIS LAKELAND PD before you go sprouting off that RLC "saved" lives.

As it is the last time some PD made this claim, it was LAPD (another ATS TOWN, until the city KICKED ATS OUT LAST YEAR).

LAPD didn't bother to mention what the CAUSES of accidents in their  "success" claims.  IN LA (formerly ATS, contract CANCELLED) the police claimed that "safety" was improved. http://www.skyvalleychronicle.com/FEATURE-NEWS/HOW-ONE-MAN-DID-THE-HEAVY-LIFTING-THAT-KILLED-L-A-s-RED-LIGHT-TICKET-PROGRAM-br-And-what-lessons-may-be-learned-by-Monroe-and-other-cities-750067

Quote:  For example, one LAPD claim was that five fatal accidents occurred at specific intersections before the red-light cameras were installed, and none occurred after.

Reality: two of the five accidents were not red light related, he says, and a third involved a drunken driver who zipped through despite a camera there, mounted by a previous vendor. The fourth, "caused by a young distracted driver," likely would not have been prevented by a camera.)
