Houston Hospitals “Shafted” by City, American Traffic Solutions

Every red light scamera package needs to be sold with some type of emotional appeal, disgusting and two-faced as it may be.

Prior to last November’s vote to ban red light cams in Houston, ATS used the tactic of running ads http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/32/3232.asp which gave the impression that there was some type of populist support for their fraud boxes and even more insidiously, that money from fines would go to “Level 1 Trauma Centers.”

Local media in Houston, who have been quickly turning against ATS, Mayor Annise Parker and Judge Lynn Hughes has uncovered the fact that this money is being funneled into the city’s general fund, with absolutely no plans to send it to said trauma centers. Not only have ATS’s scameras made Houston’s intersections more dangerous, but now the program has hamstrung trauma centers by failing to deliver promised monies. Congrats ATS, you’ve really outdone yourself this time.
