First Annual TWO FACE CHARLEY AWARD: VOTE ON WHAT VENDOR (&CITY) WILL IGNORE OR "INTERPRET" THE LAW

Ban the Cams is pleased to announce our NEW POLL!

The First Annual TWO FACE CHARLEY AWARD

To help celebrate “Which Camera Vendor will ignore or "interpret" parts of the RLC SCAMERA ACT against right turns on red and per ticket fees.”

With RLC Scamera Towns trying to figure out how to financially “save” their SCAM, it is only a matter of time before one town and vendor will “interpret” or just plain Ignore the Mark Wandall Scamera Act themselves!

Join the fun and VOTE!  www.banthecams.org

We look forward to seeing which town will be the first to stray for the per ticket fees or right turn on reds “prohibitions”.

Vendors and cities have ignored the per ticket fee for example  in other states.  ACS and the town of Bowie, MD for example are ignoring the per ticket fee there:  http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2010/apr/21/setbacks-for-speed-cameras/  Quote:  Bowie and the other jurisdictions that ignore the same law defend the practice with a disingenuous "it depends on what the word 'operate' means" defense.

The town of Lakeland, FL is already discussing how to deal with  “careful and prudent manner” wording of it.  ANY BETS IF THEY MIGHT BE THE FIRST ONE TO INTERPET RIGHT TURN ON REDS to keep citing for them????  2/3 of what they write are for this!  http://www.theledger.com/article/20100604/NEWS/100609897?p=all&tc=pgall

With so much money (and SCAMERA contracts) at stake, does Tallahassee honestly believe that vendors and cities will obey the law themselves (they already haven’t when they put up the scam in the first place:  http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/30/3059.asp )
