HOUSTON - American Traffic Solutions, the owner and operator of Houston’s red-light cameras, requested a restraining order against Mayor Annise Parker on Monday.
That order would have prevented Parker and the city from shutting down those controversial cameras.
But a judge struck down that request, calling ATS’ request premature, according to an ATS spokeswoman.
On Aug. 12, ATS learned Parker had placed a resolution to turn the cameras off on the Houston City Council Agenda.
Parker’s spokeswoman said the resolution concerns pending litigation against ATS.
That resolution will be up for vote come Wednesday. If the vote turns against ATS’ favor, the judge will want them back in court.
Ban the Cams note: Gonna deny democracy some more are we "judge"????
